NCGE Affiliate Members - The National Council for Geographic Education (NCGE) is a non-profit organization, chartered in 1915 to enhance the status and quality of geography teaching and learning. NCGE supports geography teaching at all levels-from kindergarten through university. Our members include U.S. and international teachers, professors, students, businesses, and others who support geographic education. We are committed to ensuring that all students graduate to career and citizenship with the knowledge, perspectives and skills of geography. We strive to support all educators in their desire to create engaging, authentic, inquiry-based learning experiences for students at all levels.

Colorado STEM - Science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) is fueling economic growth and innovation across Colorado. Improving STEM education and training in Colorado schools is critical. Colorado STEM is a community-driven effort to develop and implement the Colorado STEM Education Roadmap, a plan designed to advance STEM education for all Colorado learners, meet business needs, and attract new companies to the state.

Geographic Organizations - Because geography extends to everywhere and everything, there are literally thousands of organizations and corporations that could be considered related to geography. COGA has collected just a few of them that we found of particular interest to the audience of Colorado geographers. Association of American Geographers - The Association of American Geographers (AAG) is a nonprofit scientific and educational society founded in 1904. For more than 100 years the AAG has contributed to the advancement of geography. Its members from more than 60 countries share interests in the theory, methods, and practice of geography, which they cultivate through the AAG's Annual Meeting, scholarly journals (Annals of the Association of American GeographersThe Professional Geographer, the AAG Review of Books and GeoHumanities), and the online AAG Newsletter. The AAG promotes discussion among its members and with scholars in related fields, in part through the activities of its affinity groups and more than 60 specialty groups. The meetings and activities of our regional divisions provide the opportunity to network with colleagues near you.

American Geographical Society - The American Geographical Society (AGS) advances and promotes geography in business, government, science, and education. Our goal is to enhance the nation's geographic literacy so as to engender sound public policy, national security, and human well-being worldwide. Since 1851, AGS has been a leading advocate for geography in the United States and around the world. We continue unabated in our efforts to advance geographical understanding. The need has never been greater than it is today. AGS stands for better analysis and decision-making in business and government based on better understanding of how real world geography affects society, economics, infrastructure, and politics. AGS stands for better science and education based on explicit recognition of the spatial and temporal contexts that shape the real world and influence how it works. As a 21st century learning society dedicated to the advancement of geographic thinking, understanding and knowledge across business, government academe, the social sector and education, the American Geographical Society is proud to have launched www.GeoBadges.org during Geography Awareness Week. The USGS serves the Nation by providing reliable scientific information to describe and understand the Earth; minimize loss of life and property from natural disasters; manage water, biological, energy, and mineral resources; and enhance and protect our quality of life.

National Earth Science Teachers Association - The National Earth Science Teachers Association is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) educational organization, founded in 1983, whose mission is to facilitate and advance excellence in Earth and Space Science education. National Association of Geoscience Teachers - The National Association of Geoscience Teachers work to foster improvement in the teaching of the Earth sciences at all levels of formal and informal instruction, to emphasize the cultural significance of the Earth sciences, and to disseminate knowledge in this field to the general public.
 

Earth Science Teachers Association

Earth Science Teachers Association - The aim of the Association is to advance education by encouraging and supporting the teaching of Earth sciences at all levels, whether as a single subject such as Geology, or as part of Science or Geography or other courses. We are particularly keen to welcome as members, teachers who have no formal Earth science training but deliver an Earth science component in the National Curriculum. There is no qualification necessary for membership, other than a willingness to promote the aim of the Association.

Geocube - Geocube is an attractive online resource about Geography. Geocube is based on the principle of the Rubik Cube with six faces and 54 topics. It is a virtual and easily accessible website which is available online for free. Move the Geocube around with your mouse and explore the faces and topics. Geocube provides an accessible way to read, see and watch what Geography is and geographers do. This is a European initiative developed by HERODOT, the European Network for Geography in Higher Education and is available to anyone who is interested in Geography.

UCAR Center for Science Education - The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) is a consortium of universities and colleges offering degrees in the atmospheric sciences and operates the National Center for Atmospheric Research. The Center for Science Education is staff with expertise in the atmospheric and related sciences and science education. They develop state-of-the-art educational experiences that connect UCAR science to diverse learners, creating pathways towards a scientifically literate society. Major program areas include formal (K-12) education, informal education and school and public programs, education technology, and undergraduate education. The offices of the UCAR Center for Science Education are located in Boulder, Colorado.
